BUSINESS WRITING MADE EASY

“You write in order to change the world.” – James Baldwin

Most people believe that writing requires a special talent that some people simply don’t have. In truth, writing is a process that can be learned, developed, and managed just like all other business processes. If you have the ability to manage time, money, and people; you can manage your writing.

OVERVIEW

Writing is an essential communication method but it is also one where people struggle the most. Today’s education system focuses less on the written word and most societies rely heavily on instant messaging. As a result, correct sentence structure and proper writing etiquettes are quickly dying. Nevertheless, writing is vital in life; in businesses, even more so. Effective business writing is a very important communication tool that people across all departments and ranks must develop and use in order to properly transmit and document important information in the organization.

While oral communication is instantaneous, can be answered with immediate feedback, and is fast, easy, and efficient; written communication lasts as long as the material on which it was inscribed does. It is also always accessible for rechecking. In addition, written communication has the advantage of being easily skimmed or indexed, making it easier for readers to find exactly the part of the message she is looking for.
